Betty Cordellos, the founder of ConneCTions, has been rolling out the red carpet for visitors for 25 years!
When she put together the first Bed & Breakfast reservation services 25 years ago in the U.S. mid-South, it was so that visitors could connect with neighborhoods and people, find out from the ‘locals’ where to go for the best restaurants or shopping. In short, her B&B clients got a sense of the real mid-South in a way that guests of chain hotels never could.
Back in Connecticut, she continued to work in the tourism and hospitality sectors, with stints in international travel marketing, a local hotel group, an outbound domestic tour operator, and a CT tourism bureau, where she set up its first regional group tour marketing and sales program. She earned her Certified Tour Professional designation from the National Tour Association, the trade association of the escorted tour industry. And she founded ConneCTions.
Like the B&B services founded 20 years earlier, ConneCTions was designed with the same philosophy of letting people, this time around as part of a group, get to know ConneCTicut in a way that individual visitors couldn’t on their own.
ConneCTions groups may be touring together, but everyone at ConneCTions works hard to ensure that the experience is anything but ‘chain’ and anything but ordinary.

P.T. Barnum- the Jumbo Tour- is hosted by a ringmaster who’s never heard of a humbug he doesn’t like! Or a group, for that matter.
Tiffany tours enlist artisans, historians, and art and antiques lovers.
Art Trail tours are hosted by artists, art historians, or curators.
Garden tours are led by avid amateur or professional gardeners.
